I'm so taken that I don't know remember what I was going to write.Marriage is a beautiful joining that God ordains.when I look at this story I am reminded that God does bring soul mates together. He has done that for me as well. I see it in all my good friends who are married. They just fit so perfectly together. I agree with Janel, it is alot of work and people are selfish. I know I am so guilty of being selfish with my husband. I want to train myself to be a giver to him.
JenKellerAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5815730195673353006.post-52773463837825213062007-05-29T22:16:00.000-07:002007-05-29T22:16:00.000-07:00I've known great couples that have seemingly stron...I've known great couples that have seemingly strong marriages, but then I come to find out they're getting a divorce. It's frustrating because it seems to come out of nowhere, and I wonder, "Where were the warning signs?" I just pray that in my marriage and all areas of my life (Christian, mother, teacher, daughter, sister and friend) that if I am having trouble or am not happy that I will humble myself and seek help and information.I want to have the willingness that Rebekah had to just say "I will go." I will go to counseling; I will go apologize; I will go seek advice; I will go humble myself and expose the fact that, no, I don't know everything. In fact, I know very little, and I do need help from time to time. Rebekah was willing to go far out of her comfort zone to do what she felt that needed to be done for her marriage. I want to be like that.DA Wagnershttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17098172047531144621noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5815730195673353006.post-88665232417775406682007-05-29T14:52:00.000-07:002007-05-29T14:52:00.000-07:00Christina...thank you so much for your prayers! e...Christina...thank you so much for your prayers!
elisaAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5815730195673353006.post-13145696601447050302007-05-29T14:45:00.000-07:002007-05-29T14:45:00.000-07:00Elisa-Make sure you let us know how everything wor...Elisa-
Make sure you let us know how everything works out for you on Thursday. Marriage requires work, requires a give and take relationship. Pastor Bil's message about controlling the actions you take in your relationship were so reinforced by this revelation.

I was awed by Rebekah's immediate agreement to go with this man to meet her husband. While I'm sure it was customary, it still must have been a bit terrifying to leave that zone of comfort to live a life surrounded by strangers. What amazing faith!Sohl Galhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11837935838864594565noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5815730195673353006.post-56873190986813330242007-05-29T11:23:00.000-07:002007-05-29T11:23:00.000-07:00Rebekah's family wanted her to stay a few more day...Rebekah's family wanted her to stay a few more days, probably to spend more time with her. Abraham's servent felt like God's will was clear and his job finding Issac a wife was done so it was time to head back home. Rebekah's family asked her to choose whether to stay or go, she chose to go. This has taught me that when God shows me what He wants me to do that I need to act on it immediatley and not be idle. Good lesson today!
ElisaAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5815730195673353006.post-91153086198123122262007-05-29T08:04:00.000-07:002007-05-29T08:04:00.000-07:00Marriage can be a lot of fun but also can be very ...Marriage can be a lot of fun but also can be very difficult. This past Sunday Pastor Bil said "You can't control what other people do. You can only control what you do". This was a COMPLETE relief to hear because sometimes I take ownership of my husband's (less than admirable) actions. So in my prayer time I ask God to make me and my husband better people. God is the only being that has the power to do so!Christina Ketchumhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10842626470572200122noreply@blogger.com
