I have been blessed with an awesome pastor. He not only teaches with his heart but he also teaches with his mind. You can tell that he loves what he does and is constantly studying the Word in order to effectively teach us. I am also surrounded by friends and family who are excellent role models. I feel like I am always learning how to be closer to God by the people I surround myself with.

I didn't realize until high school that teachers were anyone who could influence my life. My friends, my parents, my instructors, my faith leaders, etc. When I became a teacher by trade I was very nearly overwhelmed with the immense responsibility it is. The verse (though I didn't know it then) that teachers are held to a higher standard pushed me far. I think it's important to remember that when I feel I can't, God always can; I just need to keep asking Him for His plan and guidance, and it will come to be.

It is very easy for me to remember those who have made a positive influence in my life. One was a Sunday School teacher I had as a teenager. I always wished I could tell her what hope she gave me, by just teaching and loving her group of teenage students. To this day, I don't recall any exact words, (could have been my age), I just remember the love of God that was expressed through her. Also, so many others along the way, this is truly the Blessed Life !

Looking back, I can remember the really good teachers both in church and college who made an impact in my learning the Word and also in school.
It's a true blessing.
